This is the original demo i made in '97 or '98, before "Blue Loon" even. I had gotten ahold of a used 4-track and this recording was the first (and one of the only) things i ever made that made my heart swell in such a way that it nearly broke out of joy...It was the first thing i ever made that i thought was beautiful. I recorded the drums first, then two guitar parts while really baked, in my parents' basement. I was fucking astonished when i listened back to it thru my guitar amp, sitting on a milk crate next to the furnace, my heart beating wildly. My younger brother and his girlfriend emerged from his room and said "That was really good!" They had always just told me to shut the hell up before that. I think i ran to my room and wept. Later i broke my own heart even worse when i accidentally recorded over my very favorite part of the whole thing....that's the out-of-nowhere shaker part you hear at the climax. But some things were not meant for this world.
